Our Public Sector client is currently recruiting a HGV Mechanic for a 6-month temporary contract, which could be extended. Candidates should meet the criteria below and be available for an immediate (within 2 weeks) start.
The successful candidate will join an experienced team responsible for duties including:
* The repair, maintenance, modification, and servicing of all vehicles and supporting equipment to standards defined in legislation and best practice.
* The diagnosis of faults, carrying out repairs, and in-depth overhauls on a wide range of specialist vehicles, operational equipment, and components.
* Carrying out PSV/MOT Inspection on all blue light vehicles to the standards laid down within Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency and the UK National Fire Chief Council, utilising NIFRS exemption and "signing" the vehicle as safe to be on the road.
Criteria
* Possess a certified Level 3 trade qualification as depicted in the NQF in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
* Have at least two years’ post-apprentice experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise, including heavy vehicles.
* Demonstrate experience in plant mechanics and light vehicle repair.
* Hold a Level 3 qualification in vehicle system repair and replacement in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles as depicted in the NQF.
* Be qualified to safely install, maintain, and fault find both 240v and 110v electrical systems on vehicles and equipment.
* Demonstrate excellent record-keeping of computerized repair and inspection data.
* Be competent in the use of IT software and computer systems.
* Be competent in the use of a Management Information System (MIS) for record keeping on repair data.
* Possess a current UK C Class driving license.
