We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice CNC Machinist to join our team at Hillend Engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in precision engineering and manufacturing. You will gain hands-on experience while working alongside skilled machinists and engineers, learning how to operate and program CNC machinery to produce high-quality Refuse Collection Vehicles.\nHillend Engineering are a well-established organisation operating for over 50 years designing and producing RCVs for the UK & Ireland, Europe and beyond. If you are interested in becoming part of a diverse and successful manufacturing company this may be the opportunity for you!\n The course is delivered by Forth Valley College over 4 years on a day release basis and allows the successful candidate to gain a HNC in Engineering.\nWhen you are not at college, you will be based within our machine shop where you will learn all aspects of CNC machining from start to finish. This will include setting up and operating CNC milling and turning machines, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, selecting and measuring tooling and understanding materials and machining processes. You will also be involved in quality inspection, identifying and resolving machining issues and developing your skills in CNC programming. \n What do you need?\nâ¢\tHave achieved National 5 Level Grade in Maths, English and a technical subject.\nâ¢\tBe motivated to achieve qualifications whilst gaining practical experience.\nâ¢\tMust have a determined, enthusiastic 'can do' attitude, coupled with a willingness to learn.\nâ¢\tA genuine interest in engineering and manufacturing \nâ¢\tGood attention to detail and a focus on accuracy \nâ¢\tBasic maths skills (for measurements, calculations and tolerances) \nâ¢\tAbility to follow instructions and work from technical drawings \nâ¢\tGood problem-solving skills \nâ¢\tGood timekeeping and reliability\n
