Shape the Future of the UK’s Transport Network
We are seeking experienced Senior Health & Safety Managers to play a pivotal role on the multi-billion-pound redevelopment of Euston Station, a nationally significant project forming part of High Speed Two (HS2) and delivered through the Euston Partnership (TEP) – a collaboration between HS2 Ltd, Network Rail and the Department for Transport.
This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for embedding health, safety, and wellbeing strategies across one of the UK’s most complex and high-stakes infrastructure programmes.
The Opportunity
As Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will:
* Provide strategic H&S leadership across the Euston Station redevelopment, working closely with the JV contractors (Mace & Dragados).
* Focus on health & safety by design – ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and eliminated at the planning and design stages before work reaches site.
* Support safe delivery through construction while also embedding occupational health strategies for the long-term operation and maintenance of the station.
* Drive and embed the ‘Safe at Heart’ culture, ensuring all partners, contractors, and stakeholders work consistently to shared goals, values, and behaviours.
This role sits within HS2 Ltd (the Client organisation) and is seconded into The Euston Partnership, meaning you’ll work at the heart of collaboration between multiple stakeholders, directly influencing a project of national importance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead H&S strategy, culture, and leadership across the Euston Station redevelopment.
* Ensure compliance with H&S assurance processes across occupational health, safety, and security.
* Oversee design-stage H&S risk management and drive safer delivery methods.
* Provide proactive advice and oversight across integrated project teams and supply chain.
* Lead investigations, analysis, and problem-solving to continuously improve safety outcomes.
* Act as a visible role model for collaboration, innovation, and culture change.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Senior H&S professional (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, chartered or working towards).
* Experience in large, complex design & build projects – rail, power, nuclear, utilities, airports, major civils, aggregates, waste, manufacturing or similar.
* Strong track record in H&S by design and early-stage risk mitigation.
* Proven ability to lead, influence, and embed a positive H&S culture across multiple stakeholders and supply chains.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – able to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement best practice.
* Collaborative leader with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills.
Why Join?
* Work on a once-in-a-generation infrastructure project of national significance.
* Influence the long-term safety culture of one of the UK’s busiest stations.
* Competitive package with clear career progression to Head of H&S (£100k–£120k).
* Join a high-profile integrated project team driving innovation and best practice in H&S.
