Overview
Applications are invited for Consultant in Respiratory medicine posts at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust as part of a major expansion of Respiratory services.
You will be joining a team of 14 consultants, 1 Respiratory Nurse Consultant, a team of Nurse specialists (sleep, lung cancer, NIV), in-patient Respiratory practitioner team, fully equipped Respiratory Physiology department and a dynamic, rapidly evolving service reconfiguring to allow targeted sub-specialty work and a 7 day respiratory service across the region.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in England. We provide regional services for 1.8 million Kent residents, including vascular surgery, renal services, PPCI and acute stroke intervention. We provide a full range of acute services to around 800,000 local residents with significant investment in acute medical consultants and ambulatory care. The new medical school opened in September 2020 and there are joint positions with KMMS and future opportunities through the Family First scheme.
Responsibilities
* Extensive General Respiratory experience with expertise in Pleural, ILD, Allergy or Lung cancer. Sub-specialty interests are welcome and will be accommodated. Roles in Intensive Care, Infectious diseases or acute medicine are also welcomed.
* Participation in a 7 day respiratory service across the region and involvement with a weekly EBUS and Pleural list (including IPC insertion).
* Contribute to and support the expansion of sleep and domiciliary NIV services, one of the largest in the country.
* Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including respiratory nurses, sleep specialists, and respiratory physiology staff.
Qualifications and requirements
* Essential: Full GMC Registration
* CCST Specialist Registration or will obtain within 6 months of interview date
* MRCP
* Minimum English Level 2 (GCSE C or equivalent), IELTS, or graduate of a UK Medical School
Desirable
* Higher Degree (MD/PhD or equivalent)
* Interest in Pleural services, Lung Cancer, ILD, Intensive Care & Respiratory, Acute Medicine and Respiratory, or Infectious Disease & Respiratory
Clinical governance and professional development
* Evidence of participation in Audit
* Evidence of participation in Complaints Management

* Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per year (pro rata)
* Contract: Permanent, Working pattern: Full-time, Flexible working
