The Science Technician will prepare practical materials, check apparatus safety, manage stock and help ensure lessons are well organised and compliant with health & safety guidance. The appointed Science Technician will keep inventory records, ensure safe storage of chemicals, perform routine equipment checks and assist teaching staff with demonstrations and practical logistics. Responsibilities
* Prepare practical apparatus and materials and ensure labs are set up and cleared efficiently.
* Manage consumables, maintain stock levels and place orders to sustain teaching requirements.
* Perform routine safety checks on equipment, log any issues and coordinate repairs with suppliers.
* Maintain COSHH and safety documentation and support the review of risk assessments.
* Support teachers with demonstrations and help supervise practical activity when required.
Person specification
* Experience in a technical or laboratory-support role with good practical skills.
* Working knowledge of COSHH, lab safety and correct storage of hazardous materials.
* Organised, dependable and able to maintain accurate inventories and records in Richmond.
* Good interpersonal skills for working with staff and pupils and available to start January 2026.
