Sushi Daily is a fast-growing sushi restaurant based in Bolton, Lancashire. We are looking for an
energetic Business Development manager (BDM) to be this fantastic store. We provide a lively,
fun and relaxed environment in the heart of the community with a focus on customer service and
exceptional food standards. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Business
Development Manager who can support business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospect for and acquire new customers, converting warm and cold leads into sales. This
involves targeting key decision-makers and senior stakeholders in client companies.
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, for example, corporate catering,
events, partnership with hotels or concierge services.
Building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners. Act as a primary point of
contact for clients, nurturing long-term partnerships. BDMs work closely with clients to
understand their needs and provide customised solutions.
Negotiating contracts and managing client relationships. Developing and implementing
business development strategies for business growth.
Forecasting sales targets and managing budgets. Oversee the entire sales process, from
initial contact and negotiation to closing the deal
Analysing market trends and competitor activity. Stay informed of industry trends, market
changes, and competitor activity. This includes understanding the latest innovations in
food products, ingredients, and consumer preferences.
Work with internal teams, such as marketing, product development, and operations, to
align business development strategies with broader company goals and ensure client needs
are met.
BDMs in this area focus on expanding a food brand's presence in supermarkets and other
retail outlets. This involves working with retailers' commercial teams and using insights to
drive product placement.
BDMs for contract catering companies acquire new business with schools, corporate
offices, and other institutional clients.
Skills and Qualifications required:
Business Development: Proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close
deals.
Sales Expertise: Strong sales record, experience in meeting targets, and expertise in sales
strategies.
Commercial Awareness: Understanding of the restaurant industry, market trends, and
competitor analysis.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pitch
proposals, negotiate, and build relationships.
Leadership and Management: Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage staff, and
oversee operations.
Customer Service: Strong customer focused attitude, ability to handle complaints, and
ensure excellent service standards.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of restaurant finances, budgeting, and cost control.
English Language Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
Previous experience in a restaurant, preferably sushi or Japanese cuisine, is highly desirable.
Understanding of sushi preparation, ingredients and service standards.
