Location: Barrow-in-Furness (with Kendal court and police station rota)

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Criminal Duty Solicitor to join a busy and well-established team covering Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal. This is an excellent opportunity for a duty accredited solicitor with at least 12 months’ criminal law experience who is looking to build their career within a progressive and employee-owned firm.
The Role
As a Criminal Duty Solicitor, you will represent and advise clients across a broad range of criminal matters, providing high-quality legal support at police stations and courts. You will play a key role within the team, delivering excellent client care while managing your caseload efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Criminal Duty Solicitor to represent and advise clients on a wide range of criminal law matters
* Attend police stations and courts as part of the Duty Solicitor Scheme
* Manage caseloads effectively using the firm’s case management system
* Deliver exceptional standards of client care and communication
* Participate in the out-of-hours police station rota
* Promote the firm’s wider legal services where appropriate
About You
* Duty Solicitor accreditation and eligibility for duty solicitor schemes
* A minimum of 12 months’ experience in criminal law
* Strong organisational and case management skills
* Excellent communication and client service abilities
* A proactive, professional and team-focused approach
