ScaleX Talent Solutions is working in partnership with an innovative engineering business at the forefront of industrial robotics and hazardous environment solutions, to appoint a Health & Safety Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation that is transforming how industrial maintenance and refurbishment projects are delivered across the cement, metals, and energy sectors.
The Opportunity
As Health & Safety Officer, you'll take ownership of Health & Safety across the business, supporting office, workshop, and customer project locations.
Working closely with operational teams, customers, and leadership, you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a positive safety culture across all areas of the organisation.
This is a hands‑on role offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing engineering business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as the primary Health & Safety lead across the business
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining RAMS, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Supporting operational teams during project planning, mobilisation, and execution
- Coordinating Health & Safety training, certification, and competency requirements
- Managing audits, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance activities
- Supporting customer site operations and acting as Health & Safety representative when required
- Delivering toolbox talks, briefings, and safety communications
- Maintaining accurate Health & Safety documentation and records
- Ensuring compliance with UK legislation, customer requirements, and industry best practice
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting a proactive safety culture
What We're Looking For
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification)
- Experience implementing and maintaining Health & Safety systems within operational environments
- Strong experience developing RAMS, risk assessments, and safety documentation
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, industrial, construction, maintenance, utilities, or similar environments
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and managing corrective actions
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites
Desirable
- Degree qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental, Risk Management, or a related discipline
- Additional Health & Safety certifications or specialist training
- Experience delivering Health & Safety training programmes
- Experience developing competency frameworks
- Understanding of engineering, workshop, manufacturing, or industrial environments
