IT Helpdesk Engineer – JC Computer Technologies Ltd is an established, ethical IT company that provides outstanding customer support to schools, businesses, and home users. We are looking for a customer-focused IT Helpdesk Engineer to join our growing family business, based near Wymondham, Norfolk.
As the successful IT Helpdesk Engineer, you will be providing remote technical support during term time in Suffolk and Norfolk, mainly in the education sector, but also for businesses and private homes working on and maintaining various types of hardware and small networks. Living in Norfolk you will have previous experience of working in a customer-facing IT role, in the Education sector.
You will have and maintain a current knowledge of technology developments. Delivering a high level of customer service and technical problem solving.
Your primary role will be to provide remote support to our many schools across Norfolk and Suffolk. This will include responding to customers with an agreed SLA and resolving issues over the phone and remotely. This may be anything from installing software, password reset to resolving a network issue. If the issue cannot be resolved remotely you will upgrade the case to the schools onsite technician. Communicating daily, translating customers' requirements into business delivery, ensuring understanding and agreement of the service provided.
Other key duties include:
* Maintenance, installation and configuration of software both bespoke and standard.
* Provide first line support for Broadband and Filtering Service
* Deliver a high level of customer service.
* Regular communication with company management
* To escalate any issues outside of the 3rd line support to the Technical Lead.
* To complete Arbor MIS training during probation period.
* During the school holidays to assist in major installation works (e.g., new/upgrade server, cabling/network points, new wireless system, upgrade operating system).
The ideal candidate will have experience of Microsoft Windows 10 & 11, Azure and Intune as well as a wide range of hardware, software, and peripherals. Knowledge of Active Directory management, hardware, software and peripheral application and configuration within an education environment and experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 is desirable.
Experience of and ability to demonstrate work in a customer focused environment, with excellent interpersonal skills. As a representative of the company, you will be presentable and adhere to the company's dress code. This post is subject to an enhanced criminal records bureau check once shortlisted.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week ( term time weeks)), we will require you to work on site at our head office. We are offering a competitive salary of £26,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus pension scheme and life cover. You will have a uniform and laptop provided.
