Assistant Headteacher - West Monmouth School
Salary: L14 - L18

Responsibilities
The post holder will play a key role in the strategic development of teaching and learning across the school and will lead on the ongoing development of core skills provision. They will be responsible for translating academic theory into concrete strategies, communicating their vision for teaching and learning clearly and enthusiastically to a range of stakeholders, and demonstrating a proven track record of improving provision and outcomes at department or whole school level. The role also encompasses general responsibilities within the senior leadership team, such as line management and addressing day‑to‑day pastoral issues.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher with a comprehensive understanding of, and genuine interest in, the latest thinking and research in the relevant fields. They will have experience of applying academic theory to practical strategies, be familiar with a range of effective leadership strategies, and have a proven record of improvement. Registration with the Education Workforce Council is required for this post. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants, including an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
