Banking Internal Audit – Global Markets (Contract)
Location: Central London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Overview:
Our client, a leading banking group, seeks an experienced Internal Auditor to deliver audit and assurance work focused on Global Markets operations. Operating in a high-performing team, you’ll work collaboratively with the business, predominantly covering front office processes, pricing, and the end-to-end trading lifecycle across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute risk-based internal audits covering the Global Markets division, with an emphasis on front office operations and trading workflows.
* Assess and test controls related to pricing models, trade capture, booking, execution, and settlement processes.
* Challenge design and effectiveness of controls in high-volume, high-complexity environments.
* Work closely with audit and Global Markets teams to identify, document, and escalate issues; compile and present findings to stakeholders.
* Support ongoing monitoring, risk assessments, and delivery of audit plans.
* Prepare clear, concise audit reports for senior management.
* Stay up to date with regulatory requirements and banking standards relevant to Global Markets.
* Conduct audits both independently and collaboratively, utilizing the hybrid working model (3 days in the London office per week).
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Demonstrable internal audit experience within a banking or capital markets environment (preferably investment banking).
* Deep operational understanding of Global Markets products and front office processes, including pricing, trade booking, risk management, and end-to-end trading workflows (across at least one asset class: FX, Rates, Equities, or Commodities).
* Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, controls testing, and audit best practices.
* Strong data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
* Proven ability to “deep dive” on complex trading activities – strong technical interviewing and investigative skills are essential.
* Adept at delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
* ACA/ACCA/CIA/CIMA (or equivalent) preferred.
* Must hold valid right to work in the UK and be available for a June start.
Contract Details:
* Full-time contract role, initially for 6 months.
* Hybrid model: 3 days in central London office, 2 days WFH.
* Contract PAYE day rate
