The Role
As an Employability Tutor – Hospitality, you will deliver engaging training sessions that prepare learners for employment within the hospitality sector, supporting individuals enrolled on Adult Education Budget (AEB) courses and employability programmes. Your role will focus on developing learners’ industry knowledge, workplace behaviours, and employability skills, helping them become job-ready for roles within hotels, restaurants, catering services, and customer-facing environments.
Key responsibilities include:

Delivering hospitality-focused employability training within classroom or community learning environments
*
Teaching key hospitality topics including customer service, food safety, teamwork, workplace communication, and professional standards
*
Preparing learners for roles within restaurants, hotels, cafés, catering services, and hospitality venues
*
Supporting learners with CV writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies
*
Embedding key employability skills such as confidence building, time management, communication, and workplace expectations
*
Monitoring learner progress and providing coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback
*
Supporting learners to achieve recognised qualifications with awarding bodies such as City & Guilds or Pearson
*
Building relationships with hospitality employers and industry partners to support progression into employment
*
Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation in line with Ofsted and quality assurance standards
This role combines vocational teaching, employability coaching, and industry mentoring, making it ideal for someone passionate about adult education and helping learners access careers in hospitality.

The ideal candidate will bring hospitality industry experience alongside a passion for teaching and learner development.
Essential

Experience working within the hospitality industry such as hotels, restaurants, catering, or events

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A passion for supporting adults to develop skills and progress into employment
*
Knowledge of key hospitality topics including customer service, food hygiene, and workplace standards
*
Good organisation and IT skills for managing learner records and training documentation
Desirable (but not essential)

Experience delivering training within Adult Education, AEB-funded programmes, or employability provision
*
Experience supporting unemployed learners or welfare-to-work programmes
*
A teaching or training qualification such as Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or willingness to work towards one

Experience delivering vocational training, employability workshops, or skills bootcamps
