We are delighted to be recruiting a Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join our Mental Health Together and Mental Health Together Plus Psychological Therapies Service.
You will join a dedicated and supportive team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Art Psychotherapists, Systemic Psychotherapists (Family Therapy team is part of the service), with staff trained in modalities such as CAT, EMDR, and MBT. Our team also includes a mental health wellbeing practitioner and an Assistant Psychologist. Our population consists of working-age adults with severe and complex mental health difficulties in West Kent.
We offer individual therapy and group sessions in MBT, DBT, and CBT for Bipolar disorder and Psychosis. We work systemically with wider services, and our Psychological Therapies team meets weekly for peer supervision, reflective practice, and external supervision. We provide professional development opportunities, including training in various modalities. We maintain good liaison with the local doctoral training course in Clinical Psychology and have annual trainee placements. Supervision for family therapy trainees within the trust is also available.
Main duties of the job
1. Participate in providing psychological services to adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties within the West Kent locality.
2. Provide high-quality assessment and therapeutic interventions, making autonomous clinical decisions.
3. Ensure clinical effectiveness through research and development activities relevant to the service.
4. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team of the West Kent MHT and Plus Community Mental Health Team.
You will have your own caseload of individual and group interventions. Experience in Mentalisation-based Psychotherapy, Structured Clinical Management, and EMDR is welcome. Health and Education England funded training is available for those interested in higher qualifications in specific interventions.
