£30,000 Equivalent SalaryA leading national organisation is seeking an experienced Billing & Invoice Specialist to join their finance team on a 3‑month temporary contract. This role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to support a busy Accounts Receivable function during a period of high activity.
The RoleYou will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely billing activity across multiple clients. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you’ll be responsible for capturing, validating, and processing all materials and subcontractor costs to maximise cost recovery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure purchase invoices are received and processed promptly.
2. Proactively chase subcontractors for required paperwork and invoices within agreed timeframes.
3. Review and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring alignment with agreed terms and resolving any discrepancies.
4. Capture all out‑of‑scope and fully chargeable costs on client systems to ensure full recovery.
5. Contribute to supplier reviews and rmend improvements where needed.
6. Provide reporting to themercial team on rejected work orders for escalation.
7. Analyse and report on cost recovery ratios, highlighting areas for improvement.
8. Ensure work orders are moved to end‑of‑life within required timescales to support KPI achievement.
9. Support Credit Control by issuing invoices across other areas to maximise cash receipts.
Skills & Experience
10. Proven experience working to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced finance environment.
11. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Experience within a Sales Ledger or Billing function is essential.
13. Intermediate Excel skills; experience with SUN and INFOR systems is beneficial.
14. Studying towards an accountancy qualification is advantageous but not required.
