Your Newpany:We are recruiting an experienced Plumber to work at HMP … expected to be ongoing on a temporary basis for the next few months. This is a long-term temporary contract offering sociable, full-time hours and overtime. There is the possibility for a permanent role for the right candidate.
Your new role:As a Plumber, you'll be involved in a wide range of tasks crucial to our daily operations. Your responsibilities will typically include:
1. Responsible for the provision of a variety of maintenance and reactive tasks (as able in accordance withpetency), with attention to detail and an upromising approach topliance.
2. Carry out PPM activities and reactive repairs.
3. Routine and non-routine maintenance.
4. Fault-finding and identification of life-expired equipment.
5. Check, repair and make good faults and life expired equipment.
6. Inspections, water sampling and risk assessment.
7. Mains water supply repairs.
8. Minimise wastage and continually improve processes.
9. Ensure statutory works are carried out on time and that work ispliant.
10. This role may include working at height and in all weather conditions.
11. New works/installations/upgradesmissioning.
12. Follow MOJ Security protocols, including tool management.
13. Any other dutiesmensurate with the role.
14. Where required, you may be asked to support other establishments on an ad hoc basis.
15. Assist escorting duties as required.
Details:Pay Frequency: WeeklyWorking Days: Monday to Friday (overtime cover at weekends available)Working Hours: 39 hours per weekWhat you'll need to succeedYou will need to be honest, hard-working, reliable, trustworthy and have great attention to detail, alongside being an excellent team player. All applicants who are interested in the position must pass MOJ Prison Clearance, which can take up to 8 weeks or more. You will need a passport or photo driving licence to apply for clearance. Once passed, this is valid for 5 years and can be transferred to any other prisons of a similar category.
Qualifications
16. NVQ level 2 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance
17. Experience of operating light plant
18. Legionella awareness andpliance. – Desirable

Experience
21. Proven track record of working withmercial water systems and understanding of water storage systems
22. Have experience of working withpliance of water management and Legionella
23. An understanding of building maintenance
24. Knowledge of building and systempliance (training will be provided)
25. Experience of working within a custodial environment (desirable)
26. Able to work at heights
27. Able to work independently and use initiative

AdditionalThere may be a requirement for weekend work on a rota basis (1 in 3 or 4) for which we pay a 15% shift allowance, and part of an on-call rota.
