It's an exciting time to work with us here at AXA UK, where we've an opportunity for a General Accountant to join us on a 12 month FTC. You'll assist in ensuring complete and accurate accounting records are maintained on a monthly basis, which enables the provision of financial information and other services for both internal and external customers of the finance function. You'll have the opportunity to develop and interact with a wide network of contacts, at the same time as developing your core technical accounting skills.

What you'll be doing:
* Assist in the production of monthly and quarterly reporting packs under various GAAPs (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), analysing the balance sheets and full profit and loss account for several AXA UK companies.
* Support in the production of annual and quarterly reporting for Solvency II Pillar 3, preparing the solvency II balance sheets and other required reports.
* Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for several AXA UK companies.
* Provide financial analysis and explanatory commentary of actual result performance against prior year, plans, and forecasts to AXA UK and AXA Group.
* Liaise with other teams such as, Group Tax for preparation of the taxation charges for actual results under UK and IFRS GAAP or Internal Financial Control team to ensure controls are compliant and necessary documentation is accurately maintained.
* Account for the non-life gross and reinsurance technical accounts under various GAAPs including review of the elements of the result prepared by AXA Global Business Services based in India.
* Produce ad hoc financial information, interpretation, analysis, and support to customers, thereby enabling an improved understanding of the information provided.
* Identify and implement improvements to production processes in conjunction with UK IT and the Finance Systems team to increase efficiency.

* Part or Qualified Accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA or relevant financial experience.
* Ability to prepare management/financial reports in accordance with UK and Group requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
* Assist in the improvement and enhancement of processes to improve efficiency in accordance with set objectives.
* Create positive working relationships with both internal and external contacts.
* Address any issues that arise in a logical and professional manner.
* Prepare and agree monthly reconciliations.
* Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
