* You will be a highly skilled and experienced technical leader with demonstrable experience working in the maritime domain, particularly within ship structural Production Engineering/Detailed Design in the UK and internationally.
* You will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the marine industry.
* Leading a team of Naval Architects, you should have a strong foundation in Naval Architecture principles, with practical application experience.
Job Responsibilities:
* You will be competent in fundamental Naval Architecture tasks such as hull design, stability calculations, weight calculations, performance prediction, model testing, seakeeping analysis, tank plan development, and arrangement drawings.
* Experience with various vessel types, including Crew Transfer Vessels, Service Operations Vessels, ferries, patrol boats, workboats, etc., covering diverse hull forms like slow & high-speed catamarans, deep-v planning monohulls, semi-SWATHs, SWATHs, SES, Pentamaran, among others, is desirable.
* Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD) and other specialist software like Maxsurf is preferred for producing and reviewing design information.
* You should be commercially aware, ensuring work is completed to appropriate standards and levels of detail, producing clear, well-presented drawings and plans. Initiative and self-drive are essential to meet targets and deadlines.
* Experience in Project Management and supervising project teams is required, including guiding colleagues and ensuring standards compliance.
Flexibility: This role is available on a part-time, job-share, or full-time basis. Our client values the best candidates, recognizing that they may not always be available full-time.
Location: The client’s office is based in Fareham, with flexible and hybrid working arrangements considered. Travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
