A highly organised and practically minded Design & Technology Technician is required for a Secondary School in Luton, starting immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to support a busy and well-resourced DT department that delivers lessons in Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, and Resistant Materials. About the Role You will work closely with the Head of DT and teaching staff to prepare equipment, materials, and tools needed for practical lessons. The department benefits from excellent facilities: laser cutters, 3D printers, CAD/CAM suites, electronic equipment, metalwork machinery, and modern workshop tools. Your responsibilities will include maintaining machinery, ensuring safety checks are completed, organising stock and ordering materials when required, preparing prototype examples, assisting with classroom demonstrations, and supporting students with safe and appropriate use of equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, safety conscious, and enjoys a hands-on, workshop-based environment. You will play a vital part in ensuring every lesson runs smoothly and that students have the resources they need to succeed.
