Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our professional culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience ideally with some Italian restaurant experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen personnel, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef and additional Sous in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
* Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and excellence.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
* Manage stock levels, order supplies, and monitor inventory to minimise waste.
* Train new team members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and service standards.
* Support the organisation of kitchen schedules and delegate tasks effectively during busy periods.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Extensive food production and culinary experience, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a professional kitchen setting.
* Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity with serving procedures in hospitality settings.
* Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills.
