We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Financial Accountant to join our high performing team on a fixed term basis. Over the next 12 months, as we continue to enter new markets and territories, our finance function will be focused on scaling and improving the processes and systems that underpin the business. This role has been created specifically to bring additional capacity and expertise to the team during this period of development. REPORTING TO: Financial Reporting Manager LOCATION: Based in Newry, Co. Down CONTRACT TYPE: Full-Time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract HOURS: Monday – Friday 40 hours per week with early finish on Fridays Role Responsibilities Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and month-end reconciliations. Produce departmental financial reports and provide detailed variance analysis against budget. Support business compliance processes through the preparation and submission of required statutory filings. Support budgeting and forecasting processes through financial analysis and data preparation. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations. Contribute to the preparation of year-end accounts and Statutory Financial Statements. Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including data reconciliations, system testing, and process documentation. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls. Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time. The Candidate Qualifications & Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Experience using ERP’s and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required. Skills & Attributes: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
