Accounts Payable Supervisor
Full Time | 6 Month Fixed Term (with view to go permanent)
Package: Up to £40,000 per annum depending on experience
Working: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Location: Winnersh RG41 (Hybrid)
Are you an AP professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for process improvement? We are looking for a proactive Accounts Payable Supervisor to take the reins of our AP and Expenses function.
You will be the strategic bridge between our group of six dynamic companies and our outsourced service provider. You'll ensure high standards, drive efficiency, and play a pivotal role in our finance team's success.
You will be responsible for
As the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and vendors, you will own the end-to-end AP lifecycle. You will oversee our outsourced partner to ensure they hit SLAs while maintaining the integrity of our financial data.
* Outsource Management: Full day-to-day oversight of our provider, ensuring invoice processing, cash book postings, and cost reallocations are accurate and timely.
* Expense Ownership: Lead the end-to-end expenses process via Chrome River, ensuring policy compliance and seamless reimbursements.
* Technical Excellence: Manage first-line reviews of provider output, ensuring correct coding and adherence to internal controls within Microsoft D365 and Medius.
* Ledger Integrity: Drive supplier account reconciliations, tackle aged balances, and resolve duplicate or outstanding queries to keep our ledgers "clean."
* Cash & Banking: Take ownership of payment runs, cash book postings, and the administration of company credit cards.
* Month-End Coordination: Review journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany recharges to ensure a smooth month-end close.
* Process Evolution: Identify opportunities for "continuous improvement"—documenting and enhancing controls to make our workflows even better.
What you will bring:
You thrive in fast-paced, multi-entity environments and enjoy the challenge of working across different business units. You are someone who doesn't just spot a discrepancy but has the drive to investigate and resolve it.
* Background: Proven experience in a busy AP position, specifically within a fast-paced, multi-entity business.
* Leadership: Experience supervising an AP team or managing outsourced providers.
* Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with modern ERPs (ideally Microsoft D365) and expense systems (Chrome River/Medius).
* Mindset: Ability to work unsupervised, prioritize a heavy workload, and a genuine desire to learn and progress.
* Qualification: AAT Qualified (or equivalent experience).
