IT Development Technician (Fixed Term until 31 March 2026) - PKC13018
Location: Carpenter House, Perth, PH1 5GB
Salary: £27,836 - £30,295
This role is with Perth & Kinross Council. The post holder will assist ICT technicians and engineers who provide ICT technical support to the Council. The post offers development opportunities with guidance and regular assessment of technical skills.
Responsibilities
* Support ICT hardware installs, desktop rollouts, VOIP telephony rollout, and equipment audits as part of project workstreams.
* Provide first-line user support via the IT Helpdesk: log, prioritise, and resolve incoming queries and faults.
* Assist in maintaining the ICT asset register and perform system data input.
* Undertake other duties as allocated; provide written and oral progress reports when requested.
* Work within a team to install, configure, maintain, and support ICT equipment, peripherals and standard software.
Qualifications & Skills
* Educated to HNC level (or equivalent) in an appropriate ICT discipline.
* Motivated, good team worker, and capable of managing challenging workloads.
* Willingness to develop skills and take personal responsibility for professional development over the length of the post.
