As a Quality Control Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a full‑time role (37 hours per week) based near Warrington, Cheshire. Hybrid working patterns are available, with a minimum of three days per week on site.
Responsibilities
* Review contract documentation to ensure compliance with customers' quality requirements and contract specifications.
* Ensure supplier quality arrangements meet project requirements and secure necessary approvals, including customer acceptance of up‑front manufacturing documentation (e.g., QCPs, weld schedules, NDT procedures).
* Attend supply chain kick‑off meetings to clarify project requirements, standards, expectations, and acceptance criteria for all parties.
* Produce and set inspection assignments for Quality Inspectors, arrange and carry out inspections, and liaise with third parties as required.
* Review and endorse supporting documentation throughout the contract life cycle in line with competency (e.g., NDT reports, weld schedules, EC&I test documentation).
Qualifications
* Demonstrate experience in creating and managing Quality Control Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, and verification packages within a regulated environment.
* Show expertise in manufacturing, assembling, and testing turnkey specialist assemblies.
* Bring proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the Nuclear or another highly regulated industry, covering areas such as mechanical inspection of components, weld inspection, electrical inspection, and inspection of assemblies.
* Hold a completed manufacturing apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ or ECITB).
* Possess weld inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Level 2).
* Achieve internal auditor qualification.
* Standard (BPSS) security clearance required for this role.
