Parallel Resource is collaborating with a prominent tier one contractor to recruit an experienced and highly competent Project Quantity Surveyor for a key project within their portfolio. The client seeks a driven and technically proficient commercial candidate to join their regional team in South Wales, delivering projects across Cardiff, Newport, and Monmouthshire. The companys project pipeline encompasses a broad array of schemes; therefore, proven experience in the main contracting sector, particularly within Healthcare, Residential, Leisure, Defence, and Commercial projects valued between £10 million and £25 million, is required. The successful candidate will work closely with the operational delivery team whilst reporting into a regional commercial manger to ensure that all subcontract procurement, cost management, payments, and change controls are implemented, communicated, and executed in a timely and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Regional Commercial Manager, you will play an integral role within the project delivery team - Timely procurement and commercial management of subcontract including: - Ensuring subcontractor compliance & competency with both Business and specific project requirements prior to issue of any tender enquiry. - Agreement of specific Work Package scope of works and the preparation of all relevant documentation for formal subcontract procurement. - Preparing, where required, Bills of Quants for subcontractor packages. - Procurement negotiations, including agreement of subcontract terms and conditions. - Analysis & reconciliation of returned tenders and the preparation of the final subcontract recommendation. - Producing and issuing out robust and relevant subcontract order documentation in a timely manner. - Commercial responsibility throughout the project on all matters relating to subcontract work packages, and all relevant supply chain matters. Project Delivery: - Working closely and collaboratively with the Project manager, and the site delivery team, to ensure the successful delivery and financial outcome of the project. - Involvement in the development of design and procurement strategies to maximise opportunities and minimise & mitigate risk. - Involvement in identifying key project risks and opportunities. - Production of Monthly and Quarterly Cost Reports including project margin projections and cashflow forecasts. - Ensuring compliance with Business requirements and Best Practice procedures. - Production of monthly valuations and agreement with client representatives. - Measurement, valuation, and negotiation of Client Variations. - Preparation and negotiation of Project Final Accounts. - Fostering, and maintaining, professional relationships with Clients, Consultants, and our Supply Chain Partners.
