Wessex Group are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated HR Apprentice to join the HR central resource team, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a CIPD Level 3 qualification.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical HR experience and develop essential skills.
Main Duties & responsibilities:
* Administration and co-ordination support to the HR function including Recruitment, Inductions, Probations, Training/Development, Leavers and Employee Relations
* To maintain information in a confidential manner, following data protection regulations and ensuring personnel files and records are GDPR compliant
* Liaising with employees, line managers and Directors across all companies
* Provide monthly data reports to HR Manager
* Ensuring all HR activities undertaken comply with company policies and procedures
* Undertake security screening activities, liaising where appropriate with external agencies
* Issue appropriate contractual documents in relation to termination and variations of employment.
* Maintain ‘Milestone Birthdays’ and arrange card/cake/collections where appropriate.
* Maintain ‘Long Service Awards’ spreadsheet and arrange as appropriate.
* To undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training to update own skills and knowledge

Essential competencies:
* Strong administration skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively to meet targets.
* Tactful, diplomatic and approachable demonstrating high levels of confidentiality
* Self-motivated and supportive team player
* Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Ability to meet the entry requirements of the Level 3 apprentice course attached to this apprenticeship and to undertake the studying and work required to complete the course.
* Educated to at least GCSE standard, with five passes at Grade C (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
Working pattern:
* Monday – Friday
* 08:30 – 17:00 (1 hour unpaid for lunch)
* Fixed Term Contract of 18 months
* Attend Yeovil College, one evening per week
Remuneration:
* £7.55 per hour
* 24 days, plus bank holidays
