Job Title: Behaviour Support AssistantLocation: RotherhamRecruitment Agency: TeachMatchSalary: £90 - £105 per dayTeachMatch is recruiting for dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistants to work in secondary schools across Rotherham. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of behavioural and emotional needs, implementing strategies to help improve their behaviour and create a positive learning environment. This role involves working alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and other professionals to ensure that all students have the support they need to succeed academically and socially.Key Responsibilities:Behaviour Support:
* Support students with behavioural challenges by implementing effective behaviour management strategies.
* Assist in the development and monitoring of individual behaviour plans for students.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, encouraging positive behaviour and social interactions.
* Track and report on student's progress and provide regular updates to school staff and parents
* Support in class learning
Intervention and Mentoring:
* Work with students who may be at risk of exclusion, offering targeted interventions and mentoring to improve engagement.
* Deliver small group sessions or structured activities aimed at improving social skills and emotional resilience.
Promote Positive Behaviour:
* Reinforce positive behaviour through praise and rewards, helping to foster a safe and respectful learning environment.
* Assist with classroom management to ensure a structured and orderly environment conducive to learning.
Safeguarding and Well-being:
* Ensure the safety and well-being of students, following all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
Person Specification:Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting.
* Understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to apply them effectively.
* Strong communication skills to engage with students, school staff, and parents.
* Ability to build rapport with students, particularly those facing behavioural or emotional challenges.
* Patient, empathetic, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach to addressing behavioural issues.
* Commitment to supporting inclusion and helping all students achieve their potential.
