Project Planning; be part of the team that manages and controls the Engineering defined Bill of Materials (BoM) for the entire Power Unit, ensuring specification decisions and order strategies are well understood and respected by the business, to guarantee on-time material/component supply. A strategic parts management role, enforcing absolute alignment across Engineering, Programme Management, Manufacturing and Procurement. Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Full PU Bill of Material (BoM) ownership and maintenance
* Entire PU demand creation and management across multiple projects/programmes
* Bespoke Planning strategies for long lead-time and complex components
* Monitoring of material budget adherence, balancing specification change against budget control
* Test planning, including deadline adherence to the overall Programme Plan
* Processing of Engineering Change Notifications
* Product Kitting and Build Request amendments
This opportunity is intrinsically linked with our Delivery team, focusing on ensuring supply chain delivery aligns with the plan and that products are tested ahead of deadlines. Collaboration with this team is essential for efficient results. In Programme Management, we manage complex projects through various technical and often unpredictable stages and gateways, which must be delivered within tight, non-negotiable deadlines.
As a team, we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our Placement students, giving them significant responsibilities from day one to maximize performance and capability development. Over 12 months, you will gain a solid understanding of the concepts and processes used in fast-moving F1 programmes, developing skills with our bespoke Product LifeCycle (PLC) software, SAP, TeamCentre, and Microsoft applications. Opportunities include gaining experience in:
1. V6 Product: aligning engineering releases to a clear Power Unit specification, from Performance Demonstrators to Track and Race PU's.
2. ERS Product: working with the Energy Recovery System, a complex area with longer timescales, preparing for future developments.
3. Development: collaborating with Performance Development and Application groups to plan and deliver testing programmes, directly enhancing PU performance.
