Pay Range: $27.00 – $35.00

What is a day in the life of an FA Rehabilitation Assistant?
* You will treat individuals experiencing various neurological, orthopedic disorders, and mental health injuries.
* You will collaborate with supervising therapists to assist clients with establishing and meeting meaningful goals in a variety of settings including client homes, their local community, community centres, gyms, public libraries, etc.
* You will assist in the delivery of individualized treatment plans based on analysis and clinical reasoning of supervising therapists.
* You will liaise with a variety of community partners and rehab professionals (OTs, PTs, SLPs, SWs, etc.) to facilitate client goals and independence.
What do you need to be successful?
* Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant diploma from a recognized community college, or other equivalent
* Two years of relevant OTA/PTA experience is required
* Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to client care and the roles of OT, PT and SLP
* Experience with rehabilitation services (hospital, clinic, community), pool therapy and/or personal training certifications are all assets
* Excellent computer skills (i.e. ability to work in MS Word and Outlook)
* Great interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work with different personality types
* A valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
Please note you will be fully supported by Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers and other allied health professionals.
