Our client is part of a group that has been established for almost two hundred years and employs more than 5,500 staff globally, specialising in a range of bespoke heavier engineering and materials handling activities for a diverse range of applications. Due to continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to be based out of their prestigious Leeds Office environment and complement their successful quality control team.
Responsibilities
* Expediting and reviewing subcontractor/supplier quality procedures
* Reviewing MQPs (Manufacturing Quality Plan)
* Expedition and inspection of manufactured and supplied items
* Compilation of internal CCM MQP for machining, assembly, fabrication, and painting to meet Project Quality Requirements and monitoring MQP activities
* Expedition and review of associated verification documentation (e.g., certificates, reports)
* Compilation of formal Manufacturing Lifetime Quality Records, to predetermined requirements, for customer review and acceptance
* Compilation and follow-up of NCRs
* Arranging third-party inspections as stated in MQPs as required
* Assisting in other areas of the QA/QC department as required
Responsible for the control of all expediting, internal and external inspections, and supporting functional management. Liaising with Suppliers and Clients as required, ensuring documentation packages are compiled in a timely manner. May occasionally travel to inter-company departments, suppliers, and customer sites within the UK.
To be considered for this opportunity, the candidate should hold nationally recognized Quality Control Certification, have previous QA/QC experience, and possess a full UK driving license.
The candidate should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of MQP and LTQR requirements based on customer PQRs and manufacturing standards, including associated certifications such as Material, NDT, Painting, and Welding. A working knowledge of relevant British Standards and the ability to read engineering drawings, ideally gained within a medium/heavy engineering environment, is also required.
