Overview of the post
We wish to appoint a Research Associate with expertise in economics, health economics or a related quantitative field to join the Health Organisation, Policy and Economics (HOPE) research group, based at the University of Manchester.
The successful applicant will work closely with Dr Luke Munford, as well as the wider project team, primarily based at the University of Glasgow. You will be based in the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research and Primary Care, in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester.
The role allows a mix of office-based and homeworking from within the UK. The minimum expectation is that you attend the office in Manchester on a weekly basis for wider research group meetings/seminars (currently team meetings take place on Tuesdays, where everyone is expected to attend). You would also be expected to attend the office for project related meetings as and when required, as well as occasional travel to other areas of the UK for work-related reasons.
Project: Orienting Policy Towards Inequality Minimising Actions (OPTIMA): A systems science approach to 20-minute neighbourhood policy and evaluation
This is a mixed-methods NIHR-funded research study. The post holder will primarily be involved in Work Package (WP) 4 conducting viability assessments and using the outputs plus other information to design a rigorous evaluation approach. The post holder will work directly with Dr Luke Munford, Professor Peter Craig (University of Glasgow) and Dr Jonathan Stokes (University of Glasgow; study principal investigator).
