As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents, helping them develop essential living skills. Where Will You Be Working?
Our services in Thornton provide 24-hour care for adults with Learning Disabilities and additional health needs. We are currently seeking compassionate individuals to support a young gentleman in our care.
Bungalow 10
Join a close-knit group of 4 individuals who have been living together for years. While each person has unique interests, they also cherish spending time together. Your support will help them engage in activities both inside and outside their home. We are excited to welcome 2 more residents who share similar interests!
Bungalow 11
This home is shared by 4 individuals with learning disabilities, and we have space for 2 more! They enjoy socializing and have individual hobbies that require your support. Your role will help them maintain connections with family and friends while promoting their independence.
Bungalow 8
In this home, 5 residents live together, and we are looking to add 1 more to our family. Your support will enable them to participate in local activities like library visits, park outings, and shopping trips. This hands-on role ensures that no two days are ever the same!
We focus on creating positive relationships and a supportive environment, tailoring our services to promote independence and personal growth.
Please Note: This role involves supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities, including high levels of personal care.
Shift Patterns
We offer a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends. Example shift patterns include:
* Early Shift: 07:00 – 14:30
* Late Shift: 13:15 – 20:45
* Night Shift: 20:30 – 07:15
Your Role and Responsibilities
What Will You Be Doing?
This is a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:
* Promoting the independence of the individuals we support
* Assisting with daily activities such as cleaning, cooking, and outings
* Organizing engaging activities both at home and in the community
* Helping residents develop life skills and pursue personal interests
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
* Providing personal care and support
* Assisting with medication management
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
What Skills and Qualities Do You Need?
While experience with learning disabilities is a plus, it’s not essential. What truly matters is that you are:
* Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic
* Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental
* A great team player with plenty of energy
* Skilled in communication
* Able to handle the physical aspects of the role, including manual handling
* Experienced in helping individuals manage anxiety
