Pharmacy Technician Regional Lead for Pharmacy Technician Education Training and Development - West Wales
Health Education and Improvement Wales have an opportunity for someone to join the Pharmacy Technician team as a Regional Lead for Pharmacy Technician Education Training and Development for the West Wales region.
Joining the HEIW Pharmacy team at an exciting time for the Pharmacy workforce, the role holder will work in partnership across the profession to develop the Pharmacy Technician and Support Staff workforce.
Responsibilities of the post will include, managing the regional delivery of pharmacy technician training events, coordinating a regional approach to pharmacy technician and support staff education, training & development and managing assessment and quality assurance of training programmes.
The Regional Lead for Pharmacy Technician Education Training & Development will hold a professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as well as having significant experience of delivering education and training programmes.
Main duties of the job
* Apply technical expertise and specialist assessment and quality assurance knowledge to manage the regional delivery of pre and post pharmacy technician education, training and development, including standardisation and quality assurance.
* Manage the regional delivery of pharmacy technician training events including standardisation and quality assurance.
* Co-ordinate a regional approach to technician education, training and development, contributing to the provision of quality assured services delivered by pharmacy technicians to pharmacy service users.
* Work in partnership with education, training and development leads and pharmacy employers to ensure consistency, standardisation, and quality assurance of pre and post registration pharmacy technician training programmes throughout Wales.
* Work in partnership with pharmacist regional co-ordinators to manage the delivery and development of education, training, and development resources for pharmacy technicians.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical council (GPhC)
* Degree or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through training Or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
* Level 3 Vocational Assessor qualification or commitment to complete within 18 months (e.g., D32, D33, A1, TAQA or equivalent)
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Education and training qualification
* Level 4 Internal Quality Assurer / verifier qualification (D34, V1, TAQA IQA or equivalent)
Experience
* Knowledge of pre and post registration pharmacy technician training programmes.
* Experience of delivering education and training programmes
* Evidence of stakeholder facing experience.
* Experience of working to and achieving tight deadlines
* Experience of working in a range of health care settings.
* Experience of managing education and training programmes to pre and post registration pharmacy technicians
* Experience of delivering training programmes to other health care professionals
