Building Fabric Technician Contract: Professional Services, Production & Technology Location: Motherwell, ML1 (Scotland / North East England) - Mobile Role Hours of work: 40 Contract Type: Permanent We are seeking a skilled and versatile Building Fabric Technician to join our facilities management team, providing high-quality maintenance and repair services across a portfolio of client sites throughout Scotland and the North East of England. This is a mobile role that offers real variety - you’ll travel between sites, carrying out a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and general building upkeep. Job Description As a Building Fabric Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of a wide range of facilities. You’ll handle everything from minor plumbing, carpentry, and decorating to general repairs and compliance checks, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in line with company and client expectations. Working both independently and as part of a wider facilities team, you’ll take pride in delivering excellent service, maintaining a professional image, and contributing to a safe and well-maintained working environment across all client locations. Key Responsibilities Carry out a wide range of building fabric maintenance and repairs across client sites. Complete PPM, reactive, and remedial tasks efficiently and to a high standard. Carry out general maintenance tasks including lighting, plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, basic joinery, grounds work, and minor HVAC checks. Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and materials used. Ensure all activities comply with company policies, health & safety regulations, and site procedures. Present a professional image and deliver excellent customer service at all times. Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Proven experience delivering a variety of maintenance and repair works. Previous experience in providing reactive and planned building services maintenance. Good understanding of health and safety practices when working on-site. Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach. Competent in the use of standard powered and non-powered tools. Reliable, professional, and customer-focused. Full UK Driving Licence (required for this mobile role).
