Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Post-16 College

We’re looking for a kind, calm, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a young adult 1:1 in a post-16 college setting in Walthamstow. If you believe that every learner deserves tailored support and someone in their corner, this one’s for you.
About the role:
1. Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional needs (likely autism and/or SEMH)
2. Helping them access learning, manage routines, and build independence
3. Working closely with the SENCO and college staff to keep things consistent, structured, and supportive
4. Being a steady presence in their day—someone they can trust
What we’re after:
5. Experience supporting students with SEND, ideally in a secondary or post-16 environment
6. A positive, proactive mindset and loads of patience
7. Someone who can balance firm boundaries with empathy and encouragement
