Due to significant growth opportunities and contract expansion within Group Transport we are looking for experienced HGV 1 Drivers to join our Sainsbury’s Stoke Depot.
We are looking for Class 1 Drivers with flexibility to work across a variety of start times across a 5 days on 3 days off shift pattern.
Successful applicants will be required to be fully flexible in order to provide cover as per the needs of the business.
How will you contribute?
1. To deliver products to store in a timely and professional manner
2. To "work as trained" and "in line" with SWOP’s when unloading at stores
3. Ensure compliance with Tachograph and Road Transport Directive Legislation
4. Ensuring trailers temperatures are correct
5. Operate any winter equipment ., gritter/snowplough as required
6. Ensuring the internal and external cleanliness of the vehicle is maintained at all times
What will you bring?
7. Class 1 licence required (No more than 6 points)
8. 2 years driving experience and excellent base knowledge of Transport
9. Must have completed module 4 of CPC (as a minimum)
10. Customer driven
11. Must be flexible / able to work safely under pressure
12. Be able to work on own, but also be able to work as a key member of a team
13. Ability to think on your feet
14. Have good attention to detail
15. Excellent awareness of Health & Safety
16. Good knowledge of Sainsbury’s procedures
17. Good awareness of Health and Safety Requirements
