W&P Partners are delighted to be supporting a leading healthcare group in the appointment of an Employment Legal Counsel (4+ PQE) to join their collaborative and high-performing in-house Legal team based in London.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded employment lawyer who is ready to take the next step in-house and play a visible, value-adding role within a growing, multi-site healthcare organisation.
The Opportunity:
You will join an established Legal function alongside the Head of Legal and a small legal team, working closely with HR/People, Operations, Clinical teams and external advisers. This is a broad and engaging role with a genuine split between Employment Law and general commercial contracts, offering the opportunity to develop as a well-rounded in-house lawyer while providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice across the business.
Responsibilities will include:
* Advising on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
* Managing issues such as terminations (employed and self-employed), Equality Act and discrimination matters, internal investigations and Employment Tribunal claims
* Supporting organisational change, policy development and workforce frameworks including IR35
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier, services, consultancy and operational contracts
* Conducting contract risk assessment and providing clear, commercially aligned legal guidance to stakeholders across the organisation
Experience:
We are keen to speak with candidates who are:
* A qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 3+ years’ PQE
* Experienced across both contentious and non-contentious Employment Law matters
* Comfortable advising on and negotiating general commercial contracts alongside employment work
* Bringing experience from a respected law firm and/or an in-house legal team
* Commercially astute, with strong drafting skills and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
* Confident engaging with HR, senior leaders and external advisers, building trusted relationships across the organisation
* Skilled at translating complex legal and contractual issues into clear, practical and solutions-focused advice
Experience within healthcare or another fast-paced, multi-site commercial environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
W&P Partners Legal Recruitment is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
