Overview
Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist required to join the in-house clinical team at Acorn Park School, Norfolk. You will deliver bespoke OT assessment and intervention to pupils, work collaboratively with the education team, support apprentices and students, and contribute to staff training and consultation. The role focuses on pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs, within an education setting.
Responsibilities
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload with support from a clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Deliver bespoke OT assessments and interventions to pupils in collaboration with education teams.
* Contribute to staff training, consultation, and service development within the school setting.
* Work within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and ensure your practice aligns with governing and professional body requirements.
* Engage in safeguarding practices and maintain a person-centred, empowering approach for pupils.
* Support the multidisciplinary clinical team and contribute to improving outcomes for pupils.
Location
Acorn Park School – Norfolk NR16 2HU. Acorn Park School forms part of the Outcomes First Group Options Autism brand and is an independent specialist day school for young people aged 4–19.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* HCPC registered and RCOT member
* Relevant experience in LD, SEMH, or neurodivergence
* Enhanced knowledge of OT theory and practical application
* Experience in multi-disciplinary settings with some responsibility for service and team performance
* Experience communicating with families and carers
* Good communication, relationship-building, analytical and judgement skills
* Understanding of behaviour and communication, physical needs, dexterity, coordination and sensory assessment
* Knowledge of neurodivergence, learning disability and trauma-informed practice approaches
* Understanding of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
* Strong clinical reasoning and ability to articulate rationale
* Ability to engage in quality improvement and enhanced service delivery
* Knowledge of information governance, confidentiality and record keeping
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and supervise staff/students
* Experience with OT assessment tools, intervention programmes, and treatment planning
* Evidence of CPD and self-development
* Full driving licence and access to a car; willingness to travel on company business
* Flexible, creative problem-solver; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable
* 3+ years as an OT
* Postgraduate study in Sensory Integration and/or developmental trauma and/or sensory attachment

Contract and Hours
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, overlapping with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered.
