Puddletown Surgery is seeking a qualified dispenser (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) to join our busy dispensary team. We are a small rural practice serving approximately 4,270 patients. Our team is committed to providing excellent patient care in a friendly and supportive environment. Hours: Part-time.

Applications are welcome from qualified dispensers; experience of working in general practice is not required.

Main duties of the job
* Dispensing: Taking orders for and dispensing acute and repeat prescriptions in accordance with current practice policy; receiving patients at the dispensary and advising on the use of medications and providing pharmacological guidance as appropriate.
* Stock management: Maintaining stock control to ensure continuity of supply and minimise waste; maintaining the Controlled Drug Register in accordance with regulations.
* Accounting procedures: Checking suppliers’ delivery notes; accounting for prescription charges.
* The Dispensary and other staff: Advising other surgery staff on dispensary matters.
* The field of pharmacy: Attending to own education and updating pharmacological knowledge.

Puddletown Surgery is a small friendly rural training practice with 4,270 patients and three GPs. We provide dispensing services to 99% of our patients and pride ourselves on supporting our patients in sickness and health, providing a full range of health care services in the surgery and in their own homes.
