The post holder will play an important role supporting our Community Mental Health Team, providing efficient and comprehensive administrative support to clinicians, admin staff and managers within an integrated, skill‑mixed team.
As the first point of contact for patients on the telephone, you will need strong communication skills and be able to empathise with service users while handling sensitive enquiries confidentially.
Key responsibilities include:
* Efficiently managing telephonic and electronic correspondence for the mental health team.
* Maint accurate patient records and appointment schedules.
* Providing general administrative support to clinicians, admin staff and managers.
* Adapting to changing priorities and multitasking in a varied role.
Required qualifications and attributes:
* Strong computer literacy – proficient in Word, Excel and electronic mail with excellent accuracy in data input.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and work independently as well as in a team.
* Positive approach to change, supportive of service improvements and building effective working relationships.
* Previous experience in customer care or a similar administrative role is an advantage.
The post is part‑time, Band 2 (NHS AfC) with a working pattern of Monday to Friday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at Covington (Swanswell Point).
