Key Duties: Group alignment
Central FSAQ Team
Sets food safety & quality standards based on GFSI & Global AB Mauri Requirement.
Lead business food safety culture & senior management commitment cascading it down to sites.
Provides technical guidance and support.
Support site as required during audits/customer visits.
Approves site-specific quality initiatives.
Sets annual KPI deliverables in conjunction with site technical manager & site GM/director.
Site Local Responsibility and Ownership for the Technical Manager
Implementation of Central Policies: Ensure all central FSAQ (Food Safety & Quality) policies and procedures are effectively implemented at the site level.
Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee daily technical operations, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory standards.
Local Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert for technical matters at the site, providing guidance and support to local teams.
Incident Response: Lead the initial response to technical incidents, ensuring timely investigation, documentation, and corrective actions.
Audit Readiness: Maintain site readiness for internal and external audits, coordinating with central teams as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive local improvement initiatives in line with central strategies.
Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to both site leadership and the central FSAQ team. Monthly KPI submission.
Meeting: Weekly meeting & monthly central FSAQ meeting plus preparation of meeting slides
To manage the workload of the QC department. Plan, conduct and report on internal audits. Understanding and implementation of relevant BRC, RSPO, COSHH and customer standards and procedures.
To ensure all functional areas such as test baking, goods in checks etc are covered. To assist with customer visits to the factory, specifically with regard to NPD and QC systems, documentation, etc. To liaise with suppliers on technical matters, particularly raw materials and their specifications. To develop auditing systems in line with customer and in-house requirements.
To ensure that all NPD / QC records and documentation are accurate and kept up to date. To ensure that booked in raw materials are released from inspection in a timely manner ensuring that traceability is maintained. To monitor and ensure all pest control action points are closed off and recommend actions where required.
Other duties (as required)
To make recommendations when appropriate to improve current working practices in-line with BRC and Customer specific requirements as required to enable the Company to meet its objectives.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge of relevant UK and EU legislation.
Knowledge of BRC and RSPO requirements and standards
Knowledge of HACCP (Min L3)
Knowledge and understanding of GMP procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
Working knowledge of computers: Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and company's ERP system. Able to develop knowledge and personal expertise and proficiency in computerised system usage.
Ability to maintain open working relationships with colleagues and to work well as a team member. Courtesy and tactfulness. Interfacing skills. Work efficiently under pressure. Organisation/analytical skills. Independent work skills.
Other Characteristics:
