Search Marketing Manager

We are now looking for a Search Marketing Manager to join our team and lead our search activity across PPC, SEO, Local Service Ads, Google Business Profiles, and emerging channels like Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
The Role
As Search Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding our search marketing presence across Google and Bing, while providing technical SEO insights and ensuring we stay ahead in emerging AI-driven search. You'll balance hands-on optimisation with providing clear direction on how search supports our overall marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
PPC (Google Ads & Bing Ads)
• Manage and optimise PPC campaigns across Google Ads for Lead Gen and eCommerce and build out Bing Ads.
• Conduct keyword research, write ad copy, and build structured campaigns.
• Implement conversion tracking, monitor performance, and report on KPIs.
• Regularly test and refine campaigns to improve ROI.
Local Service Ads (LSAs)
• Set up and manage LSAs across multiple service brands.
• Ensure profiles are compliant, optimised, and delivering quality leads.
• Monitor lead flow and cost-effectiveness.
SEO (Technical & Support)
• Carry out technical SEO audits and implement improvements (site speed, indexation, structured data, metadata).
• Provide keyword research, competitor analysis, and content recommendations.
• Support the creation of service/location pages and blog/editorial content.
• Use tools such as Search Atlas, Google Analytics and Looker Studio to monitor performance.
• Optimise Google Business Profiles across multiple brands, including reviews, Q&A, and local posts.
Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)
• Monitor how our brand and services appear in AI-driven search (Google SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.).
• Research opportunities to influence generative search results through structured content, schema, and FAQs.
• Work with the marketing/content team to adapt SEO strategies for generative platforms.
• Stay ahead of industry developments in GEO and make recommendations.
Analytics & Reporting
• Maintain dashboards and reports across paid and organic channels.
• Track KPIs (CTR, CPC, conversions, rankings, traffic, lead volume).
• Present insights and recommendations to the Marketing Manager.
Skills & Experience
• 3+ years' experience in search marketing (agency or in-house).
• Proven success managing
Google Ads and Bing Ads
.
• Strong understanding of
SEO best practices
, including technical and local SEO.
• Hands-on experience with
Google Business Profiles
and
Local Service Ads
.
• Familiarity with
Search Atlas
and other SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog).
• Awareness of
Generative Engine Optimisation
and willingness to lead on this emerging area.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; confident with GA4, Search Console, and PPC reporting tools.
• Clear communicator, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple brands.
