A major PLC is looking for a Transport Manager in Birmingham! Reporting to the General Manager, you will take responsibility for 18 Drivers (static routes) and a Transport Supervisor. Working hours are Monday-Friday (day shift). Their customers range from huge multi-national household names to independently owned family businesses. As Transport Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Developing efficient routes to ensure timely delivery while minimising costs
* Overseeing the maintenance, operation, and management of the vehicle fleet
* Ensuring all activities comply with local, national, and international regulations
* Implementing and monitoring safety protocols to protect drivers, vehicles, cargo, and the public
* Controlling costs and managing budgets related to transportation activities
* Hiring, training, and supervising transportation personnel, including drivers and administrative staff
* Addressing customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring high levels of service quality.
* Utilising transportation management systems (TMS) and other technologies to optimise operations
