Job overview
Do you hold a level 2 BTEC/City & Guilds Engineering or Technical qualification, or have equivalent training with relevant industry experience?
Do you enjoy problem solving and prefer to work independently in your day to day work?
If you have answered yes to both questions then we want to hear from you!
As an Estates Maintenance Support - Decontamination and Water Hygiene, you will play a key part of the Estates Operations function, carrying out a routine testing regime to the site water systems and decontamination plant within the Torbay Hospital site. You will also assist the Estates Department with their maintenance work, to help us provide the best environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out the hospital water hygiene regime, carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), taking and recording water temperatures, and flushing of water systems.
As part of the routine weekly testing regime of decontamination plant, you will ensure that accurate results are obtained and recorded in line with relevant HTM.
This role is carried out by a small team of three people, so most of your day to day work will be completed independently. The standard shift pattern will be 7.15am – 6.00pm, 4 days per week with 1 rolling rest day, or 5 day week 7.5 hrs per day.
Part time working will also be considered.
We will offer you a varied role where no two days are the same. All we ask in return is that you have some flexibility in order to cover the required duties of the Decontamination role and additional maintenance tasks.
Working for our organisation
Our Estate Operations Team are a small and friendly group who will be happy to support you and offer training to help you feel up to speed and develop in your role.
We understand how important life is outside of work and want to ensure you have a great work-life balance. We'll support you, wherever possible, so that you don't miss out on what truly matters to you.
