Overview

An exciting opportunity for Clinical Managers to join our CAMHS High Intensity Environment within the Children and Young People’s Inpatient Services at our unit. We welcome applicants from all specialist backgrounds, including experience within Eating Disorders. The post holder will work within the senior management team to ensure safe, effective care and treatment, and will be supported in development with learning opportunities.

The role requires an understanding of child and adolescent mental health, leadership and management skills, and a good understanding of complex mental health, attachment and trauma issues for children and young people. Being a University Trust, we promote learning & development and provide inductions, mandatory/personal training, and supervision. There are opportunities to develop skills and clinical practice through involvement in research.

Main duties

We are looking for an experienced, credible, motivated, resilient and inspiring clinician to lead our CAMHS inpatient mental health ward. The ward is an 8-bed CAMHS High Intensity Environment/PICU providing high-quality care for patients with physical, social, psychological and emotional health needs. The ward offers comprehensive assessments and treatment to enable shorter hospital stays and clear care plans. The ward fosters a strong sense of team, with staff encouraged to innovate and implement ideas. The ward manager will cultivate a supportive, learning environment and role-model the trust’s core values. The successful candidate will show strong clinical leadership, provide a supportive and empathetic approach to service users and carers, and have excellent communication and organisational skills, with ability to influence at senior level and experience with challenging behaviours and a broad range of mental health problems.

The multidisciplinary team is friendly and skilled, focusing on: placing the patient at the centre of their recovery journey and promoting least restrictive practice in a safe, therapeutic environment.
