Job Description

Purpose of Position

As International Development Manager your primary responsibility is to develop the company's international customer base, deliver revenue targets, drive profitability and accelerate growth.
In this role you will be part of a specialist team of sales professionals who thrive in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of global trade.

Key Task & Responsibilities

1. Managing both an existing sales pipeline and the development of new business opportunities sufficient in size to fund new international business targets as laid down in the company’s strategic plan
2. Monitoring performance of new customers to ensure they trade to an agreed profile. Agree and deliver action plans if variances occur
3. Successfully handover all new accounts to relevant member of the International Strategic Account team or CRM team portfolio within 6 months of trade. Joint appointments should be carried out with each handover and ensure the account is achieving over revenue levels as outlined by the business.
4. Identifying trends and customer needs, building a sales pipeline for short/medium/long term in accordance with targets for both core international services and new bespoke solution opportunities
5. Championing the partnering process wherever possible with any new prospect, providing the international expertise in leading the implementation process of new international customers and aligning the appropriate teams in support of this
6. Achieving all international portfolio product targets as laid down by the company
7. Embracing all new international products as and when launched by the company by identifying and winning suitable new business opportunities where necessary to support the development and establishment of these products
8. Obtaining all the correct documentation required to process a credit facility to a minimum of ISO standard
9. Striving for exceeding the target criteria each year
10. Maintaining and updating Salesforce records daily and in compliance with company procedures.
11. Achieving each International product/service target as set by the Head of International Development
12. Leading and overseeing the international tender process for new International business opportunities
13. Ensuring each new international account complies with the correct requirements of our international operation and trade regulations
14. Maintaining and sharing professional international trade and logistics knowledge and expertise through education, networking, events, and presentations

Key Measures of Performance

15. New international business revenue/contribution versus targets
16. New business international service product mix versus target
17. Opportunity and prospect pipeline to be of sufficient size
18. Compliance of prospect information given to the International Development Team Manager
19. Quality, suitability, development potential and size of new international business won
20. Achievement of revenue target

Qualifications

The successful candidate will need to have:

21. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and confidently perform presentations

22. Proven sales ability to achieve and exceed personal sales plans and targets

23. Willingness to learn and enhance knowledge of products, services and international trade

24. Excellent time management skills to maximise the ability to reach goals

25. Effective upsell and cross selling skills

26. Strong influencing and negotiating skills

27. Effective collaboration and relationship building skills

28. Resilience, self-motivation and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment

29. Good record keeping and adherence to policies and procedures
