Job Title: Finance Assistant – Part Time
Location: Poole
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week (flexible)
Finance Assistant
This role would suit someone with a background in an SME environment with large company awareness. A solid experience in finance and confidence in managing their own workload to meet deadlines and business requirements.
Job Duties:
Supporting the Finance Manager with:
1. Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
2. Credit Control including paying invoices and chasing debtors
3. Management of Supplier/Customer Contra accounts
4. Inputting bank and credit card transactions and reconciling bank accounts
5. Processing expenses
6. Preparing payment lists
7. Budgeting and forecasting
8. Building relationships with suppliers and customers
9. Acting as a point of contact for finance queries
10. Reconciling company accounts
11. CIS compliance, subcontractor management, payments, reporting
12. Managing records
13. Performing data entry
14. Identifying and resolving errors in financial records
15. Process transactions, journals and updating ledgers
16. Preparing financial reports
17. Assisting with audits, fact checks and resolving discrepancies
18. Posting financial data and accounts
19. Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phone calls, scanning etc.
20. Maintaining and improving the organisations accounting process
Person specification – ‘Must have’ skills:
21. Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance
22. AAT Level 3 qualified / CIMA / QBE
23. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
24. Experience of working autonomously to meet deadlines
25. Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
