Oxfordshire About Your Opportunity: A unique and exciting opportunity to support the military front line operations. As a key member of the Field Service Engineering (FSE) team, this role provides essential engineering support to front line operators of the Large Aircraft InfraRed CounterMeasures (LAIRCM) system installed on the MoD and Voyager aircraft based at RAF Brize Norton. The role also includes supporting the FSE team with other MoD UK based platforms at RAF Lossiemouth and RNAS Yeovilton. Additionally the position will also provide on aircraft test support to both MoD engineering authorities and commercial aircraft organisations for alignments, trials and test procedures as directed by NG Program Management and the Field Service and Technical Data Manager. Support the Chester Facility operations when required and as directed by the Senior Manager Support Operations. Your Responsibilities : - To provide Field Service engineering and technical support to LAIRCM operations at RAF Brize Norton or remotely for deployed operations as required. - To ensure rapid resolution of field engineering problems through personal action, communication with NGUKL Management or customer staff as appropriate. This will include out of hours support and weekend cover when required to meet urgent front line operational requirements on a "best effort" basis. - Compilation of a weekly report and monthly flying hours statistics based on customer feedback and data gathering efforts in line with contractual deliverables to the MoD and program management in Rolling Meadows, USA (RMS). - Carry out System fault analysis with advice and recommendations as feedback to the end user where appropriate. - Gather and collate technical data from operating bases as directed which will involve travel out of the office, possibly involving an overnight stay and sometimes at short notice. - Maintain and collate data via spreadsheets on all platforms, providing information for failure data and trend analysis by the RMS Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) team. - Provide a NGUKL LAIRCM subject matter expert (SME) Point of Contact for RAF Brize Norton on a daily basis and assist in co-coordinating activities for NG Management or NG Engineering team visits. Your Experience : - Be able to work flexibly under pressure while carrying out the instructions of Line Management. - Have the experience, knowledge and personality to be able to represent the Company in a high-pressure, technical environment at customer facilities. - The ability to represent Northrop Grumman's corporate image when dealing with the customer and NGC at all levels of seniority. - Good organisation and prioritisation skills with attention to details and deadlines. - To be meticulous in the recording and control of data both written and computer based. - Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and external contacts. - IT literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. - Show initiative in raising issues that would improve working practices. - Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Your Future Team : The Field Service Engineering team are a small-dedicated and committed group, comprising of two engineers and a manager, operating from an office/hub at RAF Brize Norton. They work closely together and support each other across all levels of program/customer support. The team also has systems engineering support from our program management in the States and the MoD Air Platform Systems delivery team as well as the wider NGUKL group.
