Axcis Education are supporting an independent SEND provision in Newton Abbot, who are looking for a full time Science Teacher (or Unqualified Science Teacher) to deliver bespoke science lessons to a post 16 student with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 basis. The working hours for this role are from 8.30 to 4:30, with pay rate ranging from £145-£210 a day, depending on previous experience. The successful candidate will design and deliver personalised Economics lessons that meet the student’s individual learning needs, interests and aspirations. You will be part of a highly supportive team that works collaboratively to help every learner overcome barriers and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities •Deliver engaging and tailored Economics lessons on a 1:1 basis. •Support the educational and personal development of a post-16 student with ASD and complex needs. •Work collaboratively with colleagues and therapists to provide a holistic learning experience. •Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment. Requirements •Experience teaching Economics at secondary or college level. •Qualified Science Teachers (QTS or equivalent) are encouraged to apply. •Unqualified Teachers with relevant experience are also welcome. •Experience working with vulnerable young people or learners with additional needs is desirable but not essential. •A nurturing, patient and positive approach to building relationships with students.
