Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and safety standards are met. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
* Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces.
* Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is prepared and stored correctly.
* Support cooks and chefs during meal preparation by providing necessary ingredients and equipment.
* Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for service.
* Participate in inventory management by helping to receive and store deliveries appropriately.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods.
STUDENTS - please note that this job is not suitable for students because of the flexibility we need regarding rota.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
* Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required.
* A passion for cooking and the culinary arts is highly desirable.
