Trainer Location: South Devon, Templar House Hours: 37 hours per week Contract Type: Full time, Permanent Salary: £29,430 - £37,610 per annum About the Role This role focuses on developing and delivering trauma informed substance misuse and complex needs training across adult services and partner agencies throughout Devon. The aim is to improve professional awareness, early identification, engagement and referral pathways for individuals experiencing substance misuse, mental health challenges, homelessness and other complex needs. The postholder will work closely with a wide range of partners including primary care, mental health services, housing providers, pharmacies and community organisations to strengthen partnership working, promote evidence-based practice and improve access to support and recovery services. The role requires a confident and collaborative individual who is passionate about workforce development, safeguarding and improving outcomes for vulnerable adults through training, engagement and partnership activity. What You’ll Do Develop and deliver trauma informed training programmes and learning resources for adult services, partner agencies and community stakeholders across Devon. Deliver evidence-based training on substance misuse, recovery, safeguarding, mental health, homelessness, complex needs and early intervention approaches. Promote awareness and understanding of local drug and alcohol services to improve engagement and referral pathways. Build and maintain strong working relationships with GP practices, pharmacies, housing providers, mental health services and wider community organisations. Support statutory and non-statutory organisations to strengthen confidence and capability when responding to substance misuse and complex needs. Assist with the planning and delivery of awareness campaigns, engagement events and partnership initiatives across Devon. Monitor, evaluate and report on the quality, effectiveness and impact of training and engagement activities. Maintain accurate records and produce reports relating to training delivery, stakeholder engagement and outcomes. Work collaboratively with operational teams and partner agencies to ensure training aligns with local priorities, legislation and best practice. Undertake continuing professional development and work in line with safeguarding responsibilities, organisational policies and professional standards. Promote organisational values and contribute positively to service improvement initiatives. What We Are Looking For We are looking for an organised, professional and engaging individual with experience in training delivery, workforce development or community engagement within health, social care, substance misuse or related services. Essential Skills and Experience Recognised teaching, training or learning and development qualification at Level 4, or equivalent experience. Experience delivering training or workforce development activities within health, social care, substance misuse or related settings. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a variety of professional audiences. Ability to design and deliver training using a range of approaches and learning styles. Good organisational, report writing and record keeping skills. Competent in Microsoft Office programmes. Experience building effective working relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders. Good understanding of substance misuse, recovery, trauma informed practice and complex needs. Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities, early intervention approaches and relevant legislation relating to vulnerable adults. Experience monitoring and evaluating training activity and producing outcome-based reports. Understanding of partnership working and referral pathways within health and social care settings.
